Discover the captivating charm of "The Gatsby Girl." Ive always loved the clothing from the 1920s and I couldnt resist painting this beautiful woman with some vibrant colours through her skin. She's adding the final bobby pin to keep her hair in place before she goes out for a night of fun. She has the often worn long white gloves and three strands of pearl necklace.
Flappers, as rebellious young women were known, turned their backs on corsets,… dropped their dress waistlines to the hips, and bobbed their hair. Skirts rose to just below the knee, allowing flashes of leg when dancing the Charleston, the Lindy Hop, and the Foxtrot.
Notorious for rhinestone beaded headbands, skullcaps and feather hair clips, the 1920s woman knew how to dress up her short flapper hairdo. While cloche hats were worn during the day, headbands — called Bandeaus — were seen in the evenings with the most formal dresses until 1925.
