About this artwork
In this painting, I tried to express a dream landscape, a mystical environment, where the beauty and richness of nature exemplify harmony, with delicate colors and soft tones of gold. I used stuctural paste as a base, with which I created an inner frame for the subject, and within this I created a layering of textures with many horizontal lines. As the final layer of the painting, I used gold paint.
The soft light colors, the muted tones of turquoise… blue and green evoke a distant mystical landscape, a dreamlike image into which a ray of light enters. This interplay of abstraction and subtle surrealism captures and even transports the gaze and soul of the viewer to a distant, past journey, while creating tranquility, mysticism and a positive space. This painting fills the viewer and any room with a warm, meditative energy, encouraging us to quiet contemplation and emotional depth.
Claire Szegvary, a self-taught Hungarian painter based in Pécs, works predominantly with acrylics, often exploring mixed media and structural paste. She adopts expressive, dynamic brushwork, harnessing the vibrancy of the expressionist tradition to translate emotion into color and energetic movement. Her art radiates heartfelt intensity, inviting viewers into a deeply personal realm of healing, introspection, and soulful liberation.
