About this artwork
It is not a bird, it is not an airplane—it is an angel with golden wings. The work speaks to the invisible force that exists both within us and beyond. The intense yellow and blue tones generate a powerful energy that makes hope, courage, and light palpable. The abstract forms intertwine, creating a contemplative, calming effect. The image invites the viewer to perceive the hidden and the obvious simultaneously—a hovering between inner and outer… worlds, between the visible and the invisible.
The techniques used include collage, acrylic, oil pastel, and pencil. Paul Klee's angels serve as a source of inspiration, yet the work develops its own language: a still, meditative energy that leads the viewer into a state of calm and contemplation.
Claudette Griffiths, a trained painter and sculptor, uses collage/mixed media, acrylic and egg tempera. Through her playful use of colors and shapes, she creates works that find a balance between intuition and chance. Based on the emotional impressions that shape her encounters with people, Claudette constructs complex soul landscapes that range from feelings of happiness to insecurity. Her works invite the viewer to weave their own associations and discover personal messages.
