About this artwork
Inspired by Leonard Cohen's "Go Back to the World," this work uses various materials to create an abstract stage of color and form depicting human interaction. The combination of acrylic, collage, ink, and oil pastel expresses multifaceted layers—between dark, light, and color. It aims to make visible the tension between the unfamiliar and the familiar. Ultimately, the viewer is invited to immerse themselves in the image, to be contemplative, and… to discover hidden layers.
Claudette Griffiths, a trained painter and sculptor, uses collage/mixed media, acrylic and egg tempera. Through her playful use of colors and shapes, she creates works that find a balance between intuition and chance. Based on the emotional impressions that shape her encounters with people, Claudette constructs complex soul landscapes that range from feelings of happiness to insecurity. Her works invite the viewer to weave their own associations and discover personal messages.
