About this artwork
In this series, I would like to use my pictures to make the beauty of nature tangible in a rather unusual way.
As with many of my works, this painting was created in several steps. First, I painted a poppy blossom as a watercolor (you can find the watercolor I painted among the other photos of this work). I then scanned the watercolor and digitally edited it. I then had the result printed on canvas and painted the background in acrylic paint.

"Goodbye Summer" is a powerful mixed-media painting that captures the bittersweet mood of saying goodbye to summer on canvas. I deliberately use a vibrant color palette that evokes the warmth and luminosity of summer, but is also interspersed with dark, melancholic tones that herald the transition to the cooler season.
