About this artwork
This painting was born from a desire to give form to an emotion rather than a precise image. The female figure, draped in red, is not a realistic portrait, but a symbol: it embodies strength, passion, and, at the same time, fragility.
I chose red as the dominant color because for me it represents pulsating life, flowing energy, and the depth of emotion. I worked with fluid brushstrokes, allowing the color to move almost by itself across the canvas,… to evoke movement and intensity, as if the woman were caught in a suspended moment, between a gesture and a thought.
The face isn't defined in detail: I wanted the viewer to recognize something of themselves in this figure, without stopping at the physiognomy. It's an apparition, a memory, or perhaps a dream that takes shape for an instant.
In this work I don't try to tell a specific story, but to open an interior space, into which everyone can project their emotions, memories, and personal sensations.
The search for beauty and harmony in the environment around me has guided my gaze and my sensitivity since childhood. My artistic nature was initially expressed through music, with piano and organ practice. For me, music and painting represent spaces of freedom and balance, places where the emotional dimension and the deepest depths of the soul can emerge. I don't like to explain or title my works. I prefer to leave the viewer free to interpret what emerges through the fluidity of color, movement, and nuance, like vibrations arising from my inner world. I believe that every work holds a subtle energy that enters another person's space, creating a silent dialogue: the work contributes to harmonizing the environment and, at the same time, establishing an intimate relationship with its occupants. In this transition, the creative act is fully accomplished, taking on the value of a gift.
