About this artwork

This painting depicts a dance between the real and the abstract, inviting intimate reflection. The movement of these bodies remains a mystery for us, an enigma to be solved. A character offers something to another: passing on knowledge, passing on a secret?
I first worked on the background of the painting by alternating flat vertical areas with warm colors. I then applied white oil paint and constructed the scene. A body moves, sometimes visible,… sometimes less. Streaks in the fresh paint still punctuate the space, like memories of a movement and fragments of the soul.
