About this artwork
Dark atmosphere to convey the sense of mental darkness of the subject (depicting the tough of suicide) and the struggle between going through with it or not, simbolized by the pistol, not painted, just drawn in white. The fact that the pistol in not painted as the rest of the scene, represents something (a thought) that is nor yet unleashed ( the decision to pull the trigger ), preventing that from happening. The act of “pulling” or “not pulling”…
the trigger, is somewhat trapped whithin the white sketch of the pistol, almost wainting to be painted, thus turning into reality something that is still in the imaginary realm: the act of pulling the trigger. The moment the gun is painted, it becomes part of the visual scenary, thus becoming reality and ready to be used by the subject on himself. The gun stays sketched, not painted, never materialising into part of the painting, staying forever in “limbo”, between two realities, mantaining the doubt : to live or to die.

Cristiano Felismina, a classical pianist turned oil painter, harnesses realism without slipping into hyperrealism, cultivating the raw beauty of brushwork. His style balances elegant illusions of detail with the tactile "mess" of strokes, favoring emotional resonance over technical mimicry. His works are an emotive journey, seeking beauty in life's chiaroscuro, enticing viewers to feel deeply without a word spoken.
