About this artwork
In my work I combine oil painting with collage techniques to create a surreal and figurative representation that is highly symbolically charged. The figure in the center, standing on stilts, embodies the fragility and at the same time the strength of the human spirit. Her crown and robe made of scraps of paper symbolize ephemeral power and beauty. By using earthy tones and soft splashes of color, I invite the viewer to reflect on the balance of fragility… and strength in our own lives. My artwork is intended to express an atmosphere of reflection and wonder.
