About this artwork
The Song of the Quantums, oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm, 2018. Alongside my figurative work, I explored abstraction for years, until the end of 2019. These paintings allowed me to work freely, playing with both the material and the colored glazes. I learned a great deal in this process, intuitively and most often spontaneously, by combining a thick, almost geographical structure with the interplay of tones through successive transparent glazes. Daniel Olivier, a painter and draftsman trained from childhood, excels in the mastery of oil painting, where he experiments with mixtures of rare oils and complex glazes.
