About this artwork
The work represents the character of Hypatia of Alexandria, my role model!: Greek scientist and philosopher, she is still a symbol of freedom of thought, 1600 years after her murder at the hands of religious fanatics. Born between 355 and 370 (there is uncertainty about the exact date) in Alexandria, Egypt, she was a very important mathematician, philosopher and astronomer.
