About this artwork
Femicide is achieved by flattering the victim, deceiving her, tricking her, manipulating her until she is trapped, so that the unsuspecting woman succumbs to the arrogance of her oppressor. First the courtship, the flowers, the chocolates...then...? Then a beautiful golden prison built on tyranny, threats, psychological and physical violence. A beautiful, solid prison for the victim, seemingly indestructible. She seems crumbling, in some places evanescent,…
but if you observe her carefully you can clearly perceive a hint of hope in her expression, her deep eyes transmit joy, indicating to us that even if her body has been trapped, her soul remains free in time and space, and that no one can force her into a place from which there is no escape. We denounce those who want to harm us, those who believe we do not have the right to live a real life, to reveal that we are thinking beings with logic and meaning, we denounce those who will one day become EXECUTIONERS.
