About this artwork
I created “Like an Echo Lost in Time” as part of my Paintfulness series.
Layered surfaces, abrasions, and material traces suggest undefined horizons, where warm shades of terracotta and peach intertwine with petrol blue and indigo, crossed by sudden flashes of yellow.
The work arises from the dialogue between memory, perception and journey.
It does not represent a real place, but an emotional trace: an interior landscape constructed through lived… memories, imagined fragments and sensations that resurface like a distant echo.
Through my process, which I call Paintfulness, painting becomes an extension of the experience of walking in nature: a slow, intuitive, and layered gesture, in which time settles on the surface as memory does.
Each observer can find something different in the work—a horizon, a light, a presence, or perhaps a personal memory suspended in time.
Daniele Guidi, a Florentine painter, mixes media in an instinctive process where walking in nature is the starting point of his work. From this physical and mental experience, abstract landscapes and moments of inner reflection are born. It does not represent real places, but the intimate sensations that arise from moving in nature. Memories, sounds and colors emerge as imperfect traces of memory. He calls this process Paintfulness Art: a painting practice through which he creates works that invite us to slow down and inhabit our spaces with awareness. He uses unconventional, sometimes recycled, materials to create textures and depth. His abstract, nonlinear work reflects the fragmentation of memory. Guidi strives to create visually and emotionally engaging spaces, allowing viewers to reconnect with their memories in the present through his art. He lives and works in Prato where he also works as a Graphic Designer.
