About this artwork
This work belongs to the series "Improbable, but not impossible banknotes," a cycle of works focused on the surreal representation of contemporary history and geopolitics.
One of the world's most recognizable icons, the one-dollar bill, becomes an open and flexible platform for a tale somewhere between ironic and melancholic, in which the great protagonists of the world's destinies inhabit unlikely, but not impossible, banknotes.
Here we see Vladimir… Putin, President of a Russia at war with Ukraine and in constant negotiations with Western politics, becoming the absolute master of the "United Soviets," a hypothetical future empire in which Russia swallows up neighboring states to restore a new Soviet Union.
Every detail in the work is part of a symbolic story to be read and reread to nourish our awareness of the contemporary world we are living in.
