About this artwork
This work is an apostolic reworking of a work by one of the artists who most fascinated me for his approach to painting and for the connection between art and life: Amedeo Modigliani, the artist "Modì" but also "Maudit".
Here two mirrored apoptotic forms play with the features of Modigliani's portrait creating a particular inside-outside effect.
Danilo Maccarone, a painter and art teacher, works predominantly with bic marker, acrylic and graphite. His techniques combine casual drawings with anthropomorphic shapes and mixed media, playing with emptiness and fullness, space and figure. His works, whose central theme is "Apoptosis", possess a unique emotional depth, arousing a mixture of perception and sensation, a morbid and refined dialogue between life and death.
