About this artwork
In this series of works, Danny Frede combines graffiti, painting, printmaking, and collage into a multi-layered composition. The works are created on canvas stretched over a frame. Direct spraying onto the canvas forms the basis, followed by painterly reworkings and custom-developed, large-format screen-printing stencils. Paper collages expand the motifs with additional layers and textures.
The series consists of unique serial pieces. Each work… is an independent original, while recurring motifs and design elements give the series a clear, cohesive character.

German artist Danny Frede was born in 1982 in Sondershausen. Today, he lives in Cologne, where he works as a freelance artist versatile in the fields of photography, painting and graphics. In his works, he translates traditional concepts of painting into the increasingly everyday perspective of digital processes.
