About this artwork
In this work I experimented with acrylics and oils to create a deep, rusty texture reminiscent of times gone by. The geometric arrangement of the rectangular blocks of color almost seems to float, giving the whole thing a light, almost meditative quality. Each colored rectangle has been carefully selected to create harmony and contrast, which together symbolize a visual echo of our diverse experiences. German artist Danny Frede was born in 1982 in Sondershausen. Today, he lives in Cologne, where he works as a freelance artist versatile in the fields of photography, painting and graphics. In his works, he translates traditional concepts of painting into the increasingly everyday perspective of digital processes.
