About this artwork
Paris – a great city for artists and art lovers. It is especially beautiful in the spring. I painted this artwork while standing next to the Sacré-Cœur Church in Montmartre. I managed to convey the atmosphere of this amazing place where such masters as Monet, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh and others created their great works.
Montmartre is a large hill in Paris's 18th arrondissement. Montmartre is primarily known for its artistic history, the… white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur on its summit, and as a nightclub district.
Near the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the twentieth, during the Belle Époque, many artists lived in, had studios, or worked in or around Montmartre, including Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Suzanne Valadon, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro, and Vincent van Gogh. Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films.

Daria Bagrintseva, graduated from Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry - one of the most prestigious Russian art universities, is an experienced Russian-born painter whose work has featured in exhibitions, publications, and collections in Russia, USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Cyprus, and India. She has been awarded numerous national and international art prizes notably the American Art Awards and Milan International Art Award. Additionally, her paintings were acquired by the State Russian Museum and the Museum of Russian Art.
In her work, Daria explores a range of themes, from nude to landscape, Art Deco to abstract. Her artistic aesthetic is marked by intense colors and a sense of lightness.
