It is a small owl in the "true owl" family Strigidae. It is known as the boreal owl in North America and as Tengmalm's owl in Europe after Swedish naturalist Peter Gustaf Tengmalm or, more rarely, Richardson's owl after Sir John Richardson.
In creating this piece, I was captivated by the silent grace of the nocturnal hunter. With pen and colored pencil, I strove to embody realism,… detailing every feather, branch, and pine needle. My aim was to bring the serene intensity and focused gaze of this magnificent creature to life. This work pulses with the stillness of the forest and the spirited essence of the wild, adding a touch of nature's solemn beauty to any space it inhabits.
Medium: color Schneider ballpoint pens and Cretacolor pencils.
Material: Fedrigoni recycled paper.
The artwork is sold unframed.
