About this artwork
Inspired by the poems and writings of Novalis, the image speaks of a deep connection to nature, of the poetry of life that lies hidden in every moment, in every blossom, in every speck of dust. It is the mystical symphony of life, constantly recreating itself and yet simultaneously dissolving within itself. An explosion of becoming that simultaneously contains both the end and the beginning—the eternal cycle of nature that is also found in Novalis's… poetic thoughts.
Darko Lesjak, an internationally acclaimed artist, exercises an experimental freedom rooted in artistic tradition. Through his preferred techniques of oil painting, reverse glass painting, and float glass painting, he creates an abstract style full of dynamic energy and spontaneous gestures, punctuated by figurative phases. His artworks are characterized by bold colors and serene backgrounds, conveying emotions of harmony and the life-giving energy of nature. Born in Slovenia in 1966, Lesjak first graduated from the School of Design and Photography in Ljubljana. He then earned a degree in art education in Maribor. He then studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, graduating with a master's degree. Starting in 1999, he worked at the Academy as an artistic assistant for painting. Since 2002, he has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Munich.
