About this artwork
In this work, I work with geometry and color as if constructing a small, inner city. Eixample is born from my everyday observation of Barcelona, its orderly blocks, and the sense of balance that comes from walking through a precisely designed urban layout.
The composition is made up of rectangular blocks that interact with each other, like buildings, streets, or fragments of a map seen from above. I'm not trying to represent the city literally,… but rather to capture its structure, its rhythm, and its energy. Each form occupies its place, like in a silent architecture.
Color plays an essential role. Blues and turquoises evoke the Mediterranean light and the sea that define the city's character. Reds and magentas introduce tension and vitality, while yellows bring light and balance. Black acts as a pause, a space for breathing within the composition.
