About this artwork
In this painting, I sought to capture the raw, primal essence of human emotions. Each silhouette is a dialogue, a geometric dance bearing witness to our inner dynamism. It carries a message of diversity, where each individual contributes to the collective energy. The nematoids of the plains in the lower part of the painting scream their anger. They are aggressive and numerous. The nematoids of the mountains, in the upper part of the painting, are…
calm and serene; they are few in number.
In this work, I wanted to work with the material using my entire body. This large-format piece was worked, sanded, reworked, and sanded again. For days on end, I became one with my painting.
I wanted to paint on wood because it is a living material; it changes with the temperatures.

Delphine Dessein is a painter and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Belgium.
