About this artwork
Out of the Blue – Completely Unexpected
There was no warning – just the moment that changed everything. The fear came in waves, drawing lines through her body. But instead of retreating, she breathed in.
Blue is reflected, white is cut by lines, green flickers in between - movement instead of rigidity. With each brushstroke the movement became clearer, the trembling turned into rhythm. Courage was not a state, but a flow - like the colors on the… canvas, which only reveal themselves in change.
And she went. Step by step, through the unknown, through what took her breath away. And with every step she noticed - she was growing. My work is in dialogue with Joan Mitchell's expressive painting - with her pulsating, overlapping brushstrokes that structure space and emotion at the same time. I am particularly fascinated by her late works: the bright blue and green tones that are reminiscent of water and light, that create a depth that is almost physically tangible.
For Denise Jacottet, a successful Swiss painter, artistic creation is an expression of her willingness to expose herself and try new things. She immerses herself in the world of colors and color layers. By using powerful acrylic paints and creating multiple layers of color, she creates depth and lively dialogues in her works. Her painting is a journey of discovery guided by the process rather than the end goal. Anyone who immerses themselves in her works will be refreshed and invigorated. She exhibits successfully nationally in solo and group exhibitions.
