The work negotiates the relationship between center and margin, between main text and side note – visually, conceptually and socially.
In language, a marginal note may have more meaning than the main text. In politics, many things remain marginal at best, and in society, life often takes place… somewhere other than the center.
This rectangle is an element that shifts the visual balance and asks questions where answers are otherwise claimed.
