About this artwork
Just Because is a series emphasizing ideas and thought presented within the art that call one to search for questions, answers and resolutions. The series will present differing images that evoke introspection, thought, and problem solving. In this piece, I express harsh opposites, contrast, and disjuncture between vibrant life and desolation, using color to deepen the emotions. The vibrant tree and ocean symbolize vitality, while the stark black… and white evoke emptiness, loss and suggests differing pathways. This painting brings a dynamic tension, inspiring reflection and energy in space and soul, reminding us of resilience, the beauty in opposing forces and hints at resolution and personal choice. Do we walk down a path leading into desolation or flourish? The background of this painting is indeed stark white.
