About this artwork
A trowel was used throughout Pivot to create motion and texture. The name Pivot is a result of seeing the forms in the painting move in different directions throughout the painting mimicking life, the sea, thought and nature. I particularly love the dark area in the lower left corner that stretches to the middle of the painting. The marks and blended paint add articular interesting to the eye in that area. The painting is messy and gooey leaving… lots of room for personal interpretation. The warm colors compete with the white and black suggesting that things are never truly black and white. This painting was put aside in my art studio until I recently resurrected it and made changes that brought it to life.
