About this artwork
In this work, I have used iron oxide pigment from the mines of Tierga, Spain. One of the main deposits of this type that is being exploited on the planet and the largest in Europe. Its raw material is an essential base for the industrial production of paint. The composition explores the chromatic strength of this pigment from the depth of minimalism and the simplicity of oriental art. My aim is to evoke strength and passion, working on the contrast… between textures that generates a focus of vital energy, ideal for elevating any space with its powerful presence.
Diego Arribas' work revolves around the relationship between art, nature and industrial heritage. His works have a great telluric charge and a social and archaeological component that tells us about our relationship with nature.
With a long national and international career, his material compositions move between relief, painting and sculpture, incorporating remains of iron and minerals from abandoned industrial exploitations.
