About this artwork
A set of three abstract prints, lovingly framed in cream-colored passe-partouts.
Each unique piece is painted in acrylic and fineliner and measures 10.5 x 7.5 cm; the passe-partout is a DIN A6 folding card (outer dimensions 15 x 10.5 cm, inner dimensions 8.8 x 6.6 cm).
Each card comes with a DIN-C6 (16.5 x 11.5 cm) mailing envelope, so that each folded card can be sent by post or used as a framed unique piece.
Each unique piece is signed on the… front and registered by the artist on the back.
The photos were taken under artificial light and may show slight color variations on the monitor.
The minimalist abstraction invites the viewer to discover their own feelings and thoughts; it radiates energy and a free spirit.

Because of my technical-analytical approach, I tend to paint in a realistic manner, but there is almost always something realistic in abstraction too.
My pseudonym as a painter is DLII (D like Dieter, LII like 52 in Roman numerals - I was born in 1952 - Daily News as a statement).
While I am painting, I let the video camera look over my shoulder and upload these making-of videos to my YouTube channel (approx. 1.5M clicks).
I describe my pictures in terms of composition, background story and technique on my homepage and in my book "Making Of - A look over the shoulder of a painter".
I have chosen the combination of painting, video and image description as my philosophy.
