About this artwork
In one of my Internet searches, I discovered John O' Donohue, an Irish poet, author and philosopher. I was immediately captured by
his approach. His themes of echo as the response of continuity, imagination as the ability to still see the mountain behind the mist, and absence as the transformed presence of the vanished, awaken our thinking and provide food for our spiritual journey in an increasingly
hungry world.
Somewhere, out at the edges, the… night is turning
and the waves of darkness began to brighten
the shore of dawn....
The heavy dark falls back to earth
and the freed air goes wild with light,
The heart fills with fresh, bright breath
and thoughts stir to give birth to colour.
John O' Donohue
Suddenly these few sentences sparked my imagination. Closed my eyes and the image, colors and feeling appears like a dream. That
was a shine through the darkness, pure inspiration.

Dimitra Papageorgiou, a self-taught artist, utilizes oils, acrylics, and mixed mediums chiefly on canvas and old wood. She evolved from impressionistic and figurative artworks to a looser, more abstract style using varied brushstrokes, textures, and vibrant colors. Akin to a tranquil day at the beach of dreams, her art encapsulates the fleeting balance between the strength and fragility of nature, especially her beloved seascapes.
