About this artwork
Cloud Burst (diptych) is inspired by the gentle movement of water from the Noosa everglades down to the ocean. The river is alive to me, with a constantly changing palette of green reflections, blues and the shades of sand underneath. This river is a special place for me and one that I visit often. It is a place of contemplation and peace, a place where I feel very much at one with my surroundings, disturbed only by the lorikeets that chatter in… the gum trees nearby.
This artwork consists of 2 paintings each with the dimensions 92cm W x 122cm H.
« Painting is an essential part of who I am. It's an instinctual process of creativity and expression. »
Dinah Wakefield is an exciting Australian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Fascinated by the light that exists under the surface of our everyday reality, she seeks to capture it in her abstract representations of landscapes and natural beauty. She is primarily inspired by the Noosa region of Australia, and seeks to represent its interplay of light - from the ocean to the clouds to the hinterland beyond.
