About this artwork
This is an acrylic mixed media piece on canvas. 3d raised elements. In this painting, I poured my passion into capturing a powerful moment of quiet confidence and elegance. The bold contrasts between the crisp white suit and rich, warm background colors evoke strength and individuality. I wanted to convey a sense of calm control and unapologetic style, bringing energy and sophistication to any space it adorns. This piece invites you to feel the poise… and depth behind the figure’s gaze.
Explanatory Poem by Dion Jay Pollard
It's one of those days,
I just want to sit in a daze.
Cool, maxed laid back,
I'm in my zone no faze.
Just being me,
Laid back, no stuff.
Spending time with my thoughts,
Just Laid Back In the Cut.
Dion Pollard, a mostly self-taught artist who studied at the American Art Institute for 1 year, masterfully balances painting, sculpting, mixed media, and digital work. His techniques merge meticulously painted acrylics with 3D sculptural elements—cloth for flowing clothing, rope for lifelike hair—creating immersive, tactile pieces that blur boundaries between 2D and 3D art. Through his detailed, blended style and seamless material combinations, he brings to life figurative, abstract, and landscape themes. His art radiates hope, spirituality, and positivity, inviting viewers to see the world’s beauty and possibility.
