As a teenager, on a trip to Paris with my parents, I saw this graffiti. The sun was setting, a magnificent display of pink clouds. It was near Fleury-Mérogis, a polluted haze on the horizon as we approached Paris. This image left a deep impression on me. I wanted to reproduce it, so powerful was… its message.

Dk Derkomaï is a self-taught artist, heavily influenced by Montreal street art, primarily using water-based spray paint, watercolor, inks, and acrylics. She has been practicing outdoor graffiti since 2009, depicting large, stylized plants. In her studio, she works on canvases and delicate drawings, blending the soft gradients of spray paint with the serendipitous effects of water on different materials. Her work conveys the power and resilience of Nature.
