About this artwork
Throwing acrylic colors on a canvas in a free way and without any expectation in the finality represents a pleasure for the artist. Play with the shapes that are slowly revealed on the canvas and begin to define the lines that will structure the whole once finished. The subject suddenly appears after turning the work in all directions and deciding which one is the most interesting pictorially. Playing with Japanese paper, oil pastels, modeling paste… with acrylic, this work plays with the real classic bouquet and sets up as a challenge to nature... an imaginary creation that pleases the artist. The work is varnished, painted black on the sides and ready to be installed in your interior decor.
« Passionate and in love with the beauty of nature and eager to transmit through my art of happiness. »
Born in Chicoutimi, in the heart of the Saguenay region, Dominique Desmeules developed a passion for color and creation at a very young age. Trained in graphic design at UQAM, she first worked as a graphic designer before pursuing a career in the travel industry, where her numerous international trips enriched her visual world.
In the early 1990s, painting became the obvious choice. In 2007, she devoted herself entirely to her art and exhibited in several galleries in Canada. For over ten years, she participated in international art fairs (Europe, Asia, USA, South America, Australia), held two solo exhibitions in Seoul, and had six of her works acquired by a patron in Singapore.
Known for her contemporary floral works, she is now moving towards a luminous and textured abstract style, pursuing an approach where emotion, color and pictorial freedom meet.
