About this artwork
I created this artwork with fervent energy, blending my photograph of an Indonesian volcano at sunrise with my watercolors and pigments to draw and paint the Naga, a mythical creature emerging from the volcano. This majestic spirit embodies rebirth and inner strength. Its radiance and colorful wings will bring a mystical and inspiring ambiance to your space, reminding us that even after adversity, beauty and strength always return.
DONA KEA creates mixed-media works on the verge of surrealism, where photography becomes narration, painting becomes presence, and the image becomes a living threshold between reality and inner vision. Rooted in her own photographic material, her practice unfolds through writing, composition, art printing and pictorial intervention, giving birth to works of striking symbolic density and singular tactile depth. At the heart of her work lies a profoundly humanist and eco-conscious commitment. DONA KEA does not simply stage dreamlike worlds; she makes poetry and imagination instruments of awareness. Her works call for a reconnection with life, with beauty, with vulnerability, and with the invisible bonds that unite human beings with their environment.
