About this artwork
In this work, I explored the duality between urbanism and nature through geometric shapes in oil pastels. The colorful contrasts between the intense red of the structures and the calm blue of the sky reflect the tension and harmony that coexist in our environment. It is a hymn to hope and reflection, perfect for inspiring and energizing any living space with balance and intrigue.

Dorine Knecht, fueled by a childhood love of drawing and oil painting, mainly uses oil pastel on paper. By superimposing colors, scratching and playing with opposites (full/empty, transparency/opacity), she creates a chaotic juxtaposition of poetic fragility. Melancholy separates his depictions of souls, forever limited by the boundaries of our bodies - a strong contrast to the solid architecture of his works. She plays with the idea of inhabiting her body like a house, mixing absence and presence to reveal the intimacy hidden behind our facades.
