About this artwork
I poured my emotions into the blues and whites, capturing the restless energy of the water meeting the sky. With acrylics, I layered waves of color to evoke movement and depth, inviting viewers to feel both calm and powerful sensations. This piece radiates tranquility and endless possibility—perfect to transform any space with the vibrant spirit of the water’s ebb and flow.
My art studio is in a little town along the northern shores of Lake Huron.… As I walk to the marina and out onto the jetty with its pathway over the water, I take in the immense power and beauty of the fifth-largest freshwater lake in the world. One windy day this summer, a wave suddenly blew over the rocks and sprayed me all over. It made me feel as if the lake was making contact with me and saying, "Hello!"
I am a bestselling polymath painter. My floral art is based on actual medical/scientific studies on health and happiness. In 2024, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine interviewed me for my “happy” art and my book, 100 Days Of Happy Happy Art, Evidence-Based Design. My art was also on the Jan/Feb 2025 cover of Healthcare Design Magazine.
By 2050, an estimated 70% of the world’s population will live in cities. My Smart City Art series promotes this planet-healing idea. I also worked in Tokyo as an English rewriter for the anime/animation industry, which included working on a Studio Ghibli film before it got sold to Disney. I believe this influence comes out in my Smart City Art abstracts. In 2026, I will be going to China for three months to paint beautiful Shanghai and sustainability.
I also love creating commissioned art. I love combining my art talent with a client's vision to create a new work of art. It's challenging but so much fun!
