Douglas Shippee is a dedicated painter with a BFA from the University of Minnesota, an MFA from Indiana University, and has spent 35 years in New York’s Hudson Valley working with oil, acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. His technique is deeply intuitive; oil and acrylic works are layered and reworked over time, while watercolors and gouaches embrace spontaneity and immediacy.
