About this artwork
Zeus is the first work in the Deadly Sins collection that I created for the Pool Art Fair. For this collection, the theme is the 7 Deadly Sins.
To represent pride, I created the story of a man who, despite not being destined to become a king at first, eventually succeeded in becoming one through determination and ambition. Unfortunately, he died as a result; his hand appears on the work. The biblical origin of the word pride means not recognizing… God as one's only guide.
From his blood (in the glass) bloom Narcissus flowers, a symbol of narcissism. The crown in the center is inspired by the crown of England. Highly visual, I remodeled it by changing the color of the jewels, keeping only the powerful red.
Dylennion Dyl is a visual artist, primarily working in acrylic and oil painting. Specializing in chiaroscuro and monochrome, her unique style is imbued with references to mythology and nature. Her introspective work, both complex and detailed, questions and challenges the viewer, exploring the paradoxes of light and darkness.
