About this artwork
In this new series, with its reduced palette, a concentrated and imaginary world is presented. Forms emerge as vestiges of something that once had purpose, but whose meaning has faded, just like color. They are not mere constructions; they seem like fragments of a memory that refuses to disappear, silent structures that hold a decipherable secret. The abandonment has no known cause: its origin becomes a silence that invites filling the voids. The… structures rise like serene monuments, awaiting a rebirth.
Eddy Miclin Rodríguez, a Cuban painter and draftsman trained at the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, employs mixed media on canvas and cardboard, drawing on extensive international experience. His style is intuitive, based on improvisation and deep Cuban roots, fusing diverse resources with everyday wisdom. With authentic and spontaneous gestures, his works explore ecology, the spiritual, and everyday life, inviting the viewer to introspection, internal dialogue, and the rediscovering of shared humanity through silences and subtle emotions.
