About this artwork
This painting depicts a mother panda and her cub, entwined in a tender and protective embrace. I chose to paint this portrait because it resonates deeply with my own life path. Having become a mother myself, I wanted to convey the gentleness, strength, and kindness I feel in this new role.
The panda is no coincidence: as a child, my favorite stuffed animal was a panda, a reassuring companion during my nights and dreams. Over time, this animal has… become much more than a childhood memory: it is my totem animal, a symbol of inner peace, protection, and unconditional love.
Through this work, I pay homage to this universal bond between a mother and her child, a bond that is both fragile and indestructible, filled with trust and tenderness. It is also a way of connecting my past as a child to my present as a mother, like a soft and reassuring thread, woven in black and white.
I am a 36-year-old painter, shaped by a unique story. Born with a right arm I was never able to use, I learned early on to transform this difference into strength. My left arm became my voice, my tool of freedom, the extension of my emotions. Thanks to it, I found in painting a universal language, truer than words. What inspires me are glances, those silent flashes that reveal inner worlds. I like to capture a fleeting expression, a burst of truth, a depth that speaks the unspeakable. Motherhood, fraternal bonds, the tenderness of human relationships are also at the heart of my inspiration: I paint the invisible force that connects people. I seek the accuracy of features, the power of a look, the freedom of movement, the transparency of rapid gestures, the momentum that escapes control to better touch the soul.
