I love the strength and sensitivity of this painting. I wanted to use intense colours, such as this soft mauvey purple. It feels warm and sensuous and intense. The thin coloured lines draw the eye, and create rhythm throughout the painting, like musical notes.
I feel it is a painting full of contrasts, it is sharp and direct, but… also soft and beautiful. It is graphic and bold, but also warm and welcoming.
