Elena Fontanesi was born in Reggio Emilia, where she lives and works. Active as an artist for over thirty years, she develops a personal exploration that encompasses symbolism, expressionism, and material abstraction.
After studying Sociology and Journalism at the University of Urbino, she furthered her education through study, experimentation, and ongoing artistic practice. Central to her research is the relationship between memory, nature, human experience, and the spiritual dimension. Landscape, a recurring theme in her work, becomes an interior space and a metaphor for states of the soul.
Using often unconventional supports and materials, he creates works characterized by intense chromatic and material strength. Alongside painting, he cultivates poetic writing.
He has participated in solo and group exhibitions, biennials, art fairs, and cultural events in Italy and abroad, receiving awards and recognition. His works are included in public and private collections.
