About this artwork
In this piece I combine acrylic painting, collage and objects embedded in epoxy resin to create an abstract, emotional experience. The layers and textures are meant to represent complex feelings and the human urge to connect with the environment. The dynamic shapes and material contrast open a dialogue about evolution and destruction. This artwork brings a strong, thoughtful energy to any space.

Elfie Marijanovic, born in Trossingen in 1952, only turned to painting in 2003. She cleverly experiments with combining different materials: coffee meets plaster, and filler meets stone dust and canvas. Her expressiveness is conveyed in vibrant compositions of colors, pigments, and collage. Marijanovic's art expresses an energy that arises from the joy of experimentation, resulting in an almost tangible vitality in her works. She teaches "Painting + Matter" at the adult education centers in Haar, Fürstenfeldbruck, and Maisach, as well as at the KunstRaum Heimstetten art school. She participates in numerous exhibitions and art markets in the Munich area every year.
