About this artwork
This work has a strong visual and emotional impact: it is an abstract painting on canvas, dominated by dark and earthy tones – mainly greys, blacks and hints of white, with touches of golden yellow that create dramatic contrasts.
Atmosphere: The whole conveys a sense of mystery and depth. The shapes are not clearly defined but seem to evoke… a natural or dreamlike scene – one can sense bare trees, twisted branches and perhaps some sort of landscape shrouded in fog or smoke.
Technique: The artist used fluid brush strokes and overlapping glazes, with some visible drips and spots that seem to explode on the surface. The thin, splash-like black lines are reminiscent of branches or veins and give movement to the composition.
Colors: Black dominates, but is broken up by shades of gray and white that create depth.
