About this artwork
In creating this piece, i sought to capture a dream like serenity and entwine it with the pure joy that colours bring. The colours cascade down the canvas in lively flourishes connecting many layers of oil and acrylic paint. The pearlescent tones present on top of and inbetween layers imbue the canvas with a sense of relection and tranquility. As joyously vibrant as it is tranquil, this painting is a celebration of colour.
This painting makes use… of interefence paint, a special paint that reacts to the light to reveal different tones. Different lighting can be seen in the additional pictures. More shadowy lighting reveals the colours beneath and more direct natural daylight allows the top blue tones to glow and illuminate. This makes the painting truly interactive, it changes throughout the day depending on where the viewer stands and what the light source is currently doing.

« My paintings explore the space where paintings live: incongruity is used as a lens to navigate presentations of multiples to reach a cohesive point to allow for emotional investment. »
