About this artwork
This painting depicts Circe, once she reached Poseidon realm in the deep sea. She felt “a spark of hope ignite within her soul, lighting the way forward in the darkness of despair”. The best way to describe it by referencing the extract of the book “Circe” by Madeline Milner which has been a great source of inspiration for this exhibition.“Circe stood at the edge of the rocky shore, the salt-tinged breeze touchling her hair as she gazed out across… the endless expanse of the sea. The waves crashed against the rugged cliffs below, their rhythmic cadence a soothing lullaby that echoed the turmoil within her heart. With a heavy sigh, Circe raised her eyes to the horizon, where the sky kissed the sea in an infinite embrace. In that moment, she felt the weight of her solitude pressing down upon her, a burden too heavy to bear alone.
Turning away from the tumultuous sea, Circe made her way along the winding path that led to Poseidon's domain.
« Painting is for me one of the ways that can allow anyone to see with his mind what cannot be seen with eyes, to expect the unexpected, to feel alive. »
