About this artwork
After a spontaneous decision during a trip to Costa Rica, I traveled to Mexico, drawn by the magical cenotes I had seen. In Valladolid, I visited Xux Ha. Expecting a group tour, I ended up alone. At first, I felt awkward watching groups leave while I stood there by myself. But slowly, that feeling turned into peace.
Standing at the edge of the turquoise cenote, I hesitated. The water was icy, and I felt unsure. But when I finally jumped, everything… shifted. That leap became one of my most special memories — a moment of freedom and inner strength.
Back home, this experience inspired ‘Grow Untamed’. While painting, I reflected on my own growth — the journey of embracing who I am, even in solitude. I’ve learned that freedom doesn’t come from chasing goals, but from accepting yourself fully, imperfections and all.
This artwork is a tribute to that transformation. A reminder that our most powerful moments often arise in stillness — when we simply let ourselves be.
