About this artwork
In my work, I explore the depths of the human psyche and emotions through abstract and surreal depictions. This image, painted with acrylics, depicts a face that simultaneously embodies absence and presence, surrounded by an aura of mystery and the unknown. The use of cool blue tones and the incorporation of chain motifs symbolize the connections and ties we bear between our inner thoughts and the outside world. This artwork is intended to inspire… the viewer to reflect on personal freedom and the inner bonds that shape our perceptions. It brings a deep, thought-provoking energy to any space it adorns.
Elvira Wagner, influenced by Buddhist art, uses mainly oil and acrylic paints in her work. She combines brush and palette knife techniques to create fine details and smooth transitions as well as texture and liveliness. Her artworks reflect central Buddhist concepts such as transience, inner peace and the interconnectedness of all life, thus calling for self-reflection.
