About this artwork
In this painting, I tried to capture the fleeting moment of a summer day ending. The sun, low above the horizon, illuminates the tops of vegetation and the cloud-covered sky at a sharp angle. The falling temperature can also be felt from the activity of the person in the foreground, who is trying to put on a jacket while walking. The original was created during the Covid period, when we drew strength from escaping into nature.

Emil Mlynárčik is a Slovakian painter whose art has been featured in several solo exhibitions in Poland and Slovakia, as well as in Portugal. Having grown up in a small mountainous village, he was surrounded by folk art, song, dance and crafts. For over 30 years Mlynárčik has dedicated himself to mastering realistic depictions of nature and rural motifs. He works on linen canvases and exclusively uses oils because they dry slower, allowing him to focus on detail.
