After lived 4 years in Asia, I return in October 2022, happy to nourish myself and admire the beauty of its nature, its temples, its people and, of course, its art.
Working in my sketchbook daily, naturally came to mind the idea of starting a series, in which for each motif chosen I will take it from realism to abstraction in five steps. Hence the title “From 1 to 5 passing through 3”.I chose a small format and paper as support as it will gave me… the possibility of painting from anywhere, being in a cafe, in a park, at the beach...
With these ideas in my head I started the series in October 2022.
For me the number 3 symbolizes play and joy, companions who make fears run away, and helps me enjoy this process. Both have been my driving force in this project, hence the tagline “going through 3”.
The series is made up of 10 motifs, taken them from realism to abstraction in 5 steps. It includes 50 paintings measuring 20 x 28 cm. It can be purchased complete or by reason (5 pieces).
